It's Flu Season... Get a vaccination voucher.

This year for the first time My Firm will be offering free flu vaccine vouchers to anyone not elibigle to receive an NHS vaccine

The main flu season is December to January. Anyone who regularly catches public transport will have already begun to hear the coughs and sneezes, and those of you with children will start seeing the effect of the melting pot of pestilence that is the school room manifesting in your little ones; so it is best to obtain your vaccination in October/ November to keep you ahead of the game.

If you would like a free vaccine voucher, contact HR to register your intrerest. The vouchers will be ordered w/c 20th September, so ensure you have made contact by then.

Not everyone has to pay for a flu jab, to qualify for a free flu jab, you must fall into one of the following categories:

·         You are aged 50 or over

·         You are pregnant

·         You have an underlying health condition which could be severely impacted by catching the flu – such as long-term heart disease or a respiratory disease - your GP can confirm whether your condition makes you eligible, and there is a simple list of medical conditions here:

·         You have a weakened immune system (for example; as a result of receiving chemotherapy)

 People falling into these categories are more at risk of developing a potentially serious complication as a result of flu (such as pneumonia) which is why they are encouraged to get vaccinated.

All My Firm employees have access to AXA PPP medical insurance which includes the Doctor@Hand service, so if you do fall foul of a seasonal bug, you are covered.
